Sister Patterson's Parents

I was raised by the worlds best mother and father.George and Margaret Patterson. To the world they were known as Reverend and Sister Patterson ,a generous hard working force. but to me they were mommy and daddy. I have always had an open relationship with my mother and father.we could talk about anything...we shared all things be they good or bad...on my part. Not a day would ever pass without saying I love you. My parents taught me right from wrong how to conduct myself as a child , as a young lady...and now as a mother of my own children. Growing up a P.K.....Pastor's Kid was not fun at all! no dancing no secular music played in the home,no bad language...the word lie was even a no no, pants, makeup, earrings, etc...and no boys..the big one...lol I had the Y.W.C.A. Church,School and Home..I as a child could not understand why I couldn't do what my friends were allowed to do..not even go to the movies. Trust and believe me....now that I am an adult I cans see the reasons why I was so sheltered. As I take time to reflect on my life. I just want to say....thank you! thank you! thank you! mommy and daddy from the bottom of my heart. I love my parents with all that I am.My parents took time with and for their children, they gave to my siblings and I values and character. Everyday we sat together as a family and had meal time...my mom set the table as though it was Christmas,Thanksgiving or Easter. We were brought up in a Christian household..and what was expected of us all,...to learn about the goodness of Jesus and who he was...(is). If it was not for the love, patients, commitment, support and understand...I don't know where I would be today. My mother and father are key players in my life. Am I spoiled?... I will confess and say... yes! Am I a daddy's girl?... to the core of my soul...yes. Is my relationship with my mother a too close one?... of course! Are my parents my best friends?... absolutely! was it always like this? yep! Are my parents proud of me?...you better know it. They have always told us children...if they had to do it all over again, they would. You know each and every time they say this ,it's music to my ears. Do I honer and obey my mother and father?... yes I do. Do I lavish and spoil them? right on...In the words of the REAL...Evangelist Margaret Patterson.... Sister Patterson,'' I got my rights"....right to love! right to be free! right to be me! Will my parents ever be without me?...no way. Will I comfort them and make sure all of their needs are met?,,,too true. I thank God for who I am and for one of the greatest gifts that he has given to me. I will always love you ,Reverend Gorge and Evangelist Margaret Patterson. ...

A.K.A. mommy and daddy

God Bless you.

I wish they would have taught you how to treat people.

What a wonderful HUB....absolutely beautiful! You couldn't have said it any better Sis'. You are one of the most straight up, giving, and loving people I know. You remind us all of what our parents are all about. I remember, and still do to this day, just how much my parents love and care about me. :) I try to do the same with my own two children, George, 19 and Amanda, 11. I hope to live up to the responsibilities, I have, for my own kids'. I hope to never let them down. :)

Love you with all my heart Michelle, Sis',

God Bless and Be Well my friend,

Patricia
